Sometimes William really hates Milliways for all its nice folks who try and help make things clearer. He likes Miss Barlow and knows she's not as law abiding as she might be, but he doesn't know how to not be angry at Ben Wade

There is a strange human sitting by the forge, so the forge cats come to investigate, carefully, staying out of arms reach and looking at the human from bushes and stacks of wood.

William notices their eyes first and watches them as they're a change from the sky.

There is a tabby cat on top of a stack of wood, watching his every move.

She might be thinking she's a tiger, and he's legitimate prey, the way she looks at him.

He offers his hand to the cat, "Don't have any food for you."

[ostro_goth]

She doesn't approach.

But the little grey one from under the bush does, creeping towards him carefully, belly low to the ground.

"Oh didn't see you there. Don't know your names but I've seen you about."

[ostro_goth]

He sits, and looks at William.

[not_his_pa]

"I'll pet you if you come up here. I hope I ain't taken your seat or anythin'."

[ostro_goth]

The little grey cat comes and sits mere inches out of arm's reach from William.

He smiles and winces as his bruise hurts, "Do I smell wrong to you or somethin'?"

There is a third cat, standing up from under the bench, stretching lazily.

"Oh hello," He laughs, they're so quiet and sort of friendly.

[ostro_goth]

The white-and-grey cat jumps up on the bench and sits right beside William.

He's very friendly and cuddly; his fur is soft.

William starts to pet the white and grey cat and he's smiling more, animals are good at diverting his thoughts.

The cat climbs onto his lap and sprawls there, purring.

William leans back against the forge and keeps happily petting, sometimes Milliways knows how to help too.
