In Kenya, it is not quite sunrise and Steph has just had a troubling conversation with Babs.

She looks at the phone in her hand, and sighs, stuffing it into her pocket and getting to her feet.  Today's going to be busy, and she doesn't really feel up to it.  Which means she probably needs to go and try to get a little more sleep.

Will comes in from the front door and grins when he sees who's behind the Bar though his smile fades when he sees the look on her face,

"Steph, lass, its been too long."

Steph looks up from her glass and blinks at him, uncertain and trying to hide it.

"... you know me," she says warily. "And ... I ... know you?"

He frowns and runs a hand through his hair, he hates when Milliways does something like this,

"Aye, I'm Will Scarlett."

"You --"

Steph tilts her head back, thinking, frowning.

"We went somewhere. A forest. Green and sparkling, and we -- climbed trees?"

"Aye, we did, I took ye to Sherwood as ye were called Robin once. I consider ye one o'me friends 'ere,"

She understands about things but now he's not sure what it means that she doesn't quite remember.

"Will," Steph says finally, and smiles. "Of course. I'm sorry, I'm all - it's confusing. But -- I do remember you. I do."

That smile's reassuring and he smiles back,

"I'm glad. Where 'ave ye been?"

"I live in Africa," Steph says, hesitantly. "With Leslie."

But ... that's not what he's asking, is it?

It tells him more than she might realize as she's somehow alive which is wonderful but strange.

Henry came back to life and Stephanie should be alive, "I dinna think I know o'a Leslie."

"She's a doctor. My doctor, I guess. She's looking after me while I - but this is all really boring." She grins at him, waving a hand away. "Do you want a drink, or anything, Will?"

"Aye an ale, thank ye. Isna borin', like knowin' what ye've been up to,"

How her world has changed from what he knew before.

She fetches the ale, smiling a little. "I haven't done much. Just - recovering. Getting myself back together. I bet it's much more interesting around here."

"Recoverin's 'mportant an glad ye're well 'nough to come 'ere."

"I wish I knew what was going on," Steph admits, leaning on the Bar. "I hardly remember it but I know I should. I just don't really know why."

[will_scarlett]

Will sits down on the stool to look at her,

"I think I could tell ye but I'm na sure if it'd be best for ye to know. Milliways does odd things with time."

Steph props her chin on her elbows and regards him thoughtfully.

"... Tell me. It's my life. Or - otherwise?"

She's starting to guess.
