This has nothing to do with any challenge. I've just had a few images out of Harry's past gnawing at my brain for a while, and this was one of them. A chance encounter in the DVD section of Best Buy last night cemented it.

Alice Wells glanced up from the mixing bowl as the all-too-familiar musical notes began to sound. "Philip-"

"Hmm?"

"Philip, you send Harry in here right this instant-"

"Can't hear you, luv! Sorry!" came her husband's cheerful voice from the next room. "Telly's too loud!"

She sighed. "You know it'll give him nightmares."

"Far too loud! Come on, Tommy- come here, Harry, sit on your Dad's lap if you like-"

There was no use in arguing with him when he was like this. Alice stifled the urge to march into the living room and walk out with her younger son, and went back to her mixing.

Philip glanced sidelong towards the kitchen door and smiled, just the least little bit. Worked like a charm. He'd make the little deception up to her later, of course, but for now. . . well, for now Tommy was perched next to him on the sofa, ready to take flight in an instant, and little Harry was scrambling up into his lap. "Right, you two," he said to his sons. "Where are we goin' tonight?"

"Skaro!" the boys chorused.

"That's right. Who with?"

"Doctor," said Harry. "'n Susan."

"And Ian and Barbara," Tommy said, as the music faded away.

"Don't wanna go," piped up Harry, though he showed no sign of squirming away from his father.

"Oh, really?" said Philip. "'n why's that?"

Harry didn't answer. Tommy, who was all of five years old, rolled his eyes in the manner of all older brothers everywhere. "He's a baby," he said. "He's scared of the Daleks."

Philip chuckled, mussing Harry's hair. "Nah, he's no baby," he said. "There's nothin' wrong with bein' scared of the Daleks. Tell you what- we can hide behind the sofa together, all right?"

"All three of us?"

"All three of us."
