... So tonight's episode of Bones 6.21 "The Signs in the Silence" is about a deaf and dumb potential killer. After initial thoughtlessness, Brennan has quite settled into the role of a "protector". This is after Dr. Sweets suggested that the girl and Brennan were s bit similar. You go, Sweets! The girl's name turns out to be Amy and Boothe just made contact with her parents in rural Pennsylvania. The question is, what was she doing all the way in whatever city the Jeffersonian is (Washington, DC btw), and how did she know her victim. At first, I thought it was a case of the abused killing her abuser... but maybe it's not that simple? I guess I'll find out...
Do not proceed if you'd rather remain unspoiled about tonight's episode
E.T.A. I've always thought this but Cam has a really big mouth. There's nothing that stays hidden once she finds out. Angela had some contractions, told Brennan and Cam not to tell Hodgins. Next thing I know, Cam's telling Hodgins. To be fair, she never means to spill the beans...
E.T.A. 2 Turns out Amy had been systematically abused for years, her dad using her as a punching bag. Ooh, Brennan's getting all hot under the collar on behalf of Amy. This is especially weird for Brennan because she makes it a point to stay detached from the people she's working on. Of course, it could be because she's dealing with people who aren't dead.
E.T.A.3 More revelations... Amy's parents aren't really her parents. Could explain why they abused her. Fake dad's very violent, even to fake mom. They kidnapped her when she was 3 years old. Why would you abuse the child after going through the trouble of kidnapping her in the first place.
So here's the real story: Amy was kidnapped from California and her real name is Samantha. Her kidnapper parents abused her since she was 3 years old and when she ran away to D.C, her "father" had his friend kidnap her and take her to his apartment where he was about to abuse her (I'm not sure if it was sexually and not just physically). Anyway, that's when she killed him and escaped. When her "father" showed up to take her back, he saw the dead body of his friend, left him there and run away. Talk about a class act.
Technically, Amy/Samantha had to kill a man to gain her life back. I wonder if she'll be jailed since it was murder. Self-defense, but murder all the same. Well, she is a minor so that might not happen...
Anyway, looks like next week's episode will be something to write home about. Something FINALLY finally happens between Boothe and Brennan. How long have we waited for this? Six seasons, 21 episodes to be exact.
