Day 1

Sep 21, 2009 10:55

The sun was obscured by dark clouds and fog. As the new residents unpacked and set up their new homes they were interrupted by ominous ringing of the bells in the town square. Gathering they found Jeeves looking solemn standing in front of a podium a duck puddling around at his feet.

"I have a grave news today. The baker JoelZero was found ( Read more... )

*EvilBen comes out from shoveling the mayor's stable*
Hmmm, I only get to speak once before I have to get back to work, so I need to make it count.

We have cuddlycthulu fattening people up with Waffles. Ophiomancer being mean to someone offering delicious Waffels. Cambler using logic. Stride and Maniakes using love and tradition.

Hmmm. Hell, I'll VOTE STRIDE to continue the tradition and even out the votes.

And, BTW, Not a wolf. Like always, I am a plain villager.

Back to the stables, see everyone at lunch.

I'm not being mean. It's not my fault that cuddlycthulu is trying to stuff people with fried battered goodness so they'll taste better when he eats them tonight.

Now that's exactly the kind of thing I would expect a werewolf to say!

*squints at you*

I'm sure you have eaten waffles in your time as a simple, vanilla villager. Does that make you a wolf? I think not!

However...have you ever handed out waffles after a tragedy with an aim to make everyone fat and happy? Would you consider this normal behavior? Would you have an appetite after a valued member of your community was horribly murdered and eaten with cinnamon and sprinkles!?

Be smart. Be safe. Don't Eat The Waffles.

Ah, but in the event of a tragedy, if you starve yourself and mope, it might make you easier prey! We should eat, keep ourselves strong, so as to properly lynch the evil wolves when we root them out!

... besides, why wouldn't you want a waffle? Couldn't be because you were already full, could it?

My appetite is perfectly fine. I just don't wish to make myself more tastey to those who would go om nom nom on my bones. If it would put your mind at ease, I will eat to prove that I am not full because I did not feast on the cinnamony flesh of our dearly departed baker.

But it shall be nothing sugary, no fruits, nothing sweet of any kind! I will only eat disgusting foods to make me taste revolting to these canine killers! Brussel sprouts, spinach...SOUR KRAUT. *looks a little queasy at the idea*

"Not a wolf" claims are probably better than "plain villager" claims. The first does not give the wolves any new information; they already know you're not a wolf.

However, telling them you are a "plain villager" (i.e. not anything special) may give them new information. They may target you, hoping to get the afflicted (you wouldn't know). Or they may not target you hoping to get more specials like the seer.

That is, if they can trust your word.

The "not a wolf" claim is, however, worthless. If you're a wolf, would you come out and say it? Obviously not. You'd lie through your teeth. Therefore we can expect ALL players to make the "not a wolf" claim. Why bother making it at all?

Vanilla villager is basically the same as not a wolf. Everyone can say the same thing.
