A walk down memory lane.

Wooooow. I worked at this place for 3 years of college and my first year of law school. This particular room is called the Oak Room, and the one below is the Red Room. The Oak Room was where all the biggest banquets were held. I remember once almost bumping into John Kerry there with two pots of coffee in my hands. The Red Room was where members would dine for non-events. It was ala carte (a menu instead of a preset meal)and only the most experienced people were allowed to work this room. This is where I spent a great majority of my time, especially during my first year of law school. I remember once an elderly gentleman accidentally set his bread basket on fire when he let the napkin lining the basket dip into the votive on the table. He left me a $100 tip as an apology.

Aside from the many funny events we worked and people we experienced while working there, the thing I remember the most about this place are the amazing people I worked with. I grew so much here. My college crew was Evie and Jim (the manager's step-son) and Steve Rzasa and me, and then I got my roommate and boyfriend at the time, Jesse, jobs there. Jim was too young to get into bars, so we'd have to sneak him in if we went out after work. During my first year of law school, when my entire college crew had graduated and left Boston, it was just Jim and me, and I made a new friend, Jenn, (jennsan11) and the entire kitchen staff was new (Clark, the mean head chef was long gone and replaced by a French guy who was gruff, but nowhere near as mean as Clark had been. God I miss Clark).

The longer I'm away from Boston, the more I miss it. And those pictures take me back as though I still have to be in for a dinner shift tonight. Sigh.
