Yuletide Letter (2014)
Dear Yuletide Author,
Hi, nice to meet you! I've tried to stuff this letter with as much information as possible, because I'm the kind of person who panics when she feels like she doesn't have enough details, but I'm pretty easy, so don't freak out and feel free to ignore everything!
I'm looking forward to reading what you'll come up with! And I'm apparently using a lot of exclamation marks! I'm just excited! Have fun and thank you!
LIKES: ladies being awesome, other people recognizing those ladies as being awesome, flawless lady friendships, co-dependency all day every day, best friends who fall in love, antagonists who form a reluctant alliance and fall in love, family antics, morally gray characters, found families, people on a mission, banter, pining, UST, RST, happy things, angst, AUs, crack, ensemble fics, anything that's character-based, cute ships, cute and awkward ships, dark ships, angst-y ships, unhealthy ships being recognized as such, etc. The usual cliché tropes own my soul: mutual pining, mistaken to be dating, fake relationship, accidental relationship, accidental marriage, arranged marriage, marriage of convenience, etc.
DISLIKE: character bashing, rape/non-con, major character deaths; basically anything that would leave me on the verge of hanging myself. Dark is good but not everybody-dies-and-nobody-will-ever-be-happy-again dark.
If you want something more specific, I’d love getting together fic, OT3 or otherwise, or anything about Clarke and Bellamy and/or Raven’s developing partnership-bonus points for found family feelings with the 100 and Bellamy and Clarke accidentally falling into the role of grumpy parents. I’d also love outside POV fic, or if you’re feeling inspired by the recent episodes anything about them finding their way back to each other and/or the conflicts with the Ark that will probably arise.
Best friends who fall in love is my absolute weakness, so anything about that would be golden. Karma struggling with her developing feelings for Amy. Jealous Karma. Oblivious Karma who doesn't understand why she doesn't like it when Amy talks about other girls or why she feels all bubbly inside when Amy holds her hand. Oblivious Amy who doesn't realize Karma is subtly trying to woo her. More fake-dating. Future fic where they are actually dating but no one believes them. Parent Trap-like fic where their friends and families all think they belong together and surreptitiously try to make it happen.
Alternatively: Amy and Karma dealing with getting their friendship back, the ups and downs of Amy trying to get over her; pre-canon fic about their relationship; college shenanigans.
Here is some more best-friends-falling-in-love potential cuteness! Anything relatively angst-free about these two would be awesome, but they do kind of seem perfect for the traditional tropes if you enjoy writing them. Accidental relationship where they’re absolutely dating and don’t realize it. Mistaken identity shenanigans-though they can absolutely happen in a non-shippy way. Fake dating fic! Something happens-maybe there's a high school reunion and Iris wants to defend Barry from his high school nemesis? Iris’ great-aunt has been really annoying about her being single recently and she just wants to get her off her back? Who knows!-and obviously the only solution here is fake dating! Obviously! And maybe she gets really into it! For no reason! At all!
Would also be great: pre-canon getting together fic where they start dating when they’re teenagers because it has really great adorable-slash-awkward potential. Anything about Barry and Iris and Joe learning how to fit together as a family. Iris and Joe dealing with Barry being a coma and not knowing if he’ll ever wake up and/or still dealing with the trauma after he’s woken up.
Or post-s1 fic, the three of them finding each other again. Domestic fic. Maybe a comedy of errors of Richie learning how to deal with kinda being a vampire.
Just anything, really.
Maybe Wes and Laurel slowly winning over Michaela and Connor-I'm also really curious about how Connor seems to have complete faith in Wes in the flash-forwards. Reluctant found family. Getting together fic. Them dealing with having killed someone and being forever linked together despite themselves because of that. Them being vicious and manipulating and using each other but sticking by each other anyway.
