Very nice!!! I've always questioned the Japanese way of giving someone who obviously has muscles such a light weight. It's impossible. 121 lbs. is less than my ideal weight, and I'm 5'5". I say screw the canon facts and put what you think is more reasonable. So, if he's 18 in 2003 he'd have been born in... (urgh! You're making me do math!) ... 1985? Yeah, that sounds right. o.o; *hates math*
I totally understand what you're saying about the accent. I'm currently taking a linguistics class, although I had a pretty good understanding beforehand. ^_^; I'm guessing Malik is a Type A personality. Shopping as a hobby? He's got something in common with Ferro! LOL
People in japan are TINY. I like Lolita fashion, but I can never find clothes in my size. I once found a skirt with a 25" waist! o_o They aren't tall at all, but I know that Asian cultures seem to have a obsession with Western appearances (the fold in the eyelid, for example, is the #1 type of plastic sugery done in China) so maybe they make anime characters tall as a embodiement of thier need to appear more Western? >_<
*Snicker* I'll bet you did. You guys have put enough pressure on that I was already planning to do one with "Favorite Food: Malik" on it...*cackle*
But I have one question...about how old is Malik when the initiatin ceremony takes place?
I'd like ot know because despite his looks and his personality. BODLIY, Marik's bound to be FAR younger than Malik due to his special..."birth" arrangements. Just like Bakura's thousands of years old thanks to the Ring.
What would you say is a good age, or is there any stat on it anywhere? I'm really bad at this kind of thing, after all... (Marik could be like 10... X.x)

Well... I know that Mariku killed Malik's father/first came out 5 years before Battle City. Malik was 16 during BC, so Mariku appeared when Malik was 11.
BUT BUT BUT, Mariku was created before then. I don't think it was mentioned at what age Malik hgad the initiation, but I'm guessing he was 10. I think that because the Malik shown when he got his scars looks the same as when Malik goes out of the tombs, so there probably wasnt a large time period between the two events. Then again, that could have just been a mistake by the animation company.
Another reason; 10 is very common age in cultures, in which something shall be done to a child for religous/cultural/ceramonial reason, blah blah blah... Also, at that age, Malik's skin would be strong enough to scar without penatrating too deeply on accident. Not to mention if they were to do it earlier, the scar might actually heal itself in soms places, and we can't have that can we?
Re: OOC Babblings...nightmares_rodDecember 5 2007, 23:04:13 UTC
*nods and grins* So...I guess this makes Malik technically a bit of a pedophile...in age at least. *shakes head bemusedly* (The ritual points are pretty good, though I'm not ssre if ten is right or not as far as an age goes. I picked up a book on rituals from my school and was reading through it...but most "manhood" rituals are done a little later, I thought...but maybe it doesn't really matter. 10's fine to me. *shrug*)
I don't suppose I could pester you on one more thing-- Do you think I should have Bakura share Ryou's birthday? (If I could find out when that is it might help, too...) I mean...it's doubtful he'd remember his REAL birthday after so long in the ring...if he'd even celebrated it in the first place...
Re: OOC Babblings...milleniumkeeperDecember 5 2007, 23:16:58 UTC
Do Yugi and Atem have the same birthday? (kinda a rhetorical question, kinda not.. >_>)
Reincarnation has never had anything to do with having the same birthdates. That's just a trend in this fandom, as created by crazy (not us, suprisingly) fangirls. I mean, really, most incarnation has to do with having your soul in an ANIMAL!!! How does birthdates play into that? Actually, reincarnations don't have to look the same either, and while in some cultures blood line and ancestery come into play, that's mnot universally accepted. So you could say Ryou is Bakura's decendent or you could not. Birthdays? PFFT. Do what ever the @$#% you want.
I know that Raph and Ferro are type B personality, and I'm trying to think of who else might be... Possibly Miruko, Tea, and Namaka... I don't know. v_v

I'd say 10.
