So, I don't save the PSD or have screencaps on the steps, but cos you mastered the basics, I'm sure you'll be okay with just description.
What I do is kind of manual. - First I paste the frames before selection so I have two separate animations that starts at different timing. - I make 2 backgrounds : still picture of the top, and still picture of the bottom animation. - I set this background to be visible by the time the animation is running by manually toggling them for each frame.
