Touring Seattle

I'll be home for Thanksgiving and I want to show my friend the area. I want to make sure I a list of places to run through, especially if we get too tired to drive to Vancouver (Must avoid giving tour of Kent). Plus I want to show him something in Seattle that would beat hanging out in SF. I've got a list going so far but its starting to look too touristy:

Pike Place - Starbucks
Space Needle (EMP too I guess)
Piers
Downtown Library
That new sculpture park I haven't been to yet
Fremont + Locks
Discovery Park, Gas Works
UW campus

Alaskan viaduct (jk)

But what exactly would show the slight cultural differences between Seattle and the Bay Area? What *are* the cultural difference?

To me, Seattle is like taking the best of Oakland and the best of SF, then mash them together, color it green with a gray tint and chill.

One thing I always miss in the trees.
I miss green trees and giant mountains.
I miss smelling fresh rain instead of warm morning asphalt.
I miss sitting with a tray of Ivars and watching the boats float into Lake Union.

Pies and pints perhaps. I can't find the quirks here I had in undergrad. I know they must be in Palo Alto somewhere. Guess I have to just keep looking.
