Yap Sigyn does exist in Marvel comic. Check out this link here. She looks a little scary, doesn't she? Rather suitable as Loki's wife.
In the original Thor comic, when Odin banished Thor to Midgard, Odin took away Thor's memories as the Prince of Asgard and he became a human... a crippled human actually and his name is Donald Blake (in the movie, Donald Blake is Jane's ex and is given to Thor as his pseudo Midgardian name). He then studied in the university as a medical student and later, became an amazing doctor with a golden heart. Yep, he learnt humility as well. Dr. Donald Blake is a very brilliant doctor (he is consider as the best) and he is dashing and charming and Jane is his nurse so that's how they meet in the comic.
I kinda forgot how it happened already but I know that he went to Norway and ended up in a cave where he found Mjolnir. Regain his memory and poof! He's no longer the crippled doctor but the Mighty Thor, the future King of Asgard! But he still keep his identity as Dr. Blake once in a while, helping the sick and stuff. He even owned a clinic. There is this one volume where Iron Man was in a coma or some kind in a vegetative state (his entire mind was wiped out) and Dr. Blake (Thor) took Tony as his patient and helped to heal and recover his memory.
There is a reason sometimes I had a hard time to write Thor as an idiot (like how I see his character in the movie) because heck, he's a freaking doctor in the comic book. But I don't really mind at the same time because I'm always open to all kind of interpretation of his character. Gosh, I think I ramble too much. Sorry. ^^;;
I don't mind your rambling, because I really don't know anything about Marvel characters, aside from the movies. So this is an information for me :)
Yes, she is scary and very different from what I imagined. From the myth, I imagine her with pretty face and long blonde hair. Hmm but it's Marvel anyway, they often made characters with...funny faces and costumes??
Hmm...to be honest, I also can't imagine Thor as a genius. I am more comfortable with his...foolish attitude in the movie as well. Maybe that's because I've never read the original comics :P
Are the story of Thor, Avengers, and Thor 2 movies very different from the original Marvel Thor then??
There is just a bit of similarity but not everything. They still stay true to the basic core (Like Loki is adopted and Odin is still being an asshole, Thor is Thor...always loyal to Asgard) but plot-wise, they change and simplify it in the movie. The comic is more complicated what will all kinds of villains and lots of stuff happened. I guess the reason they make the plot different than the Thor comic because we might end up watching the movie for three hours or more (I don't mind if it's involve looking at Tom Hiddleston I mean Loki angsting for Thor and vice versa and lots of bromance and they get married and make lots of babies and live happily ever after ;p)
I think the right word for Thor which his character shares similarity both in comic and movie is naive.
Yeah, I also like the movie verse better (because of the actors??). The Marvel Loki isn't cute! I remember reading a post at The Avengers fan page in Facebook. It's about the new villain or something for Thor 2, and one of the candidates is The Enchantress. I really really hope that there will be NO ROMANCE between the new villain/Enchantress and Loki. Really, I truly prefer Loki to stay focus(obsessed) on his brother than doing some romance with another villain T^T. Well, that's my personal opinion anyway.
Oh btw, I want to thank you for your answers and informations^^ I like it better when someone explains to me than having to read/search all of the informations myself. It simplifies things and the conversations are nice^^
Because Tom and Chris are in love with each other and that's why they are too awesome in the movie as Loki and Thor.
Oooo... The Enchantress is Amora. She's this evil blonde lady who wants to take Loki's virginity *coughs* or I like to pretend she's evil in that way LOL ('cause she can't stop seducing my LOKI!!! And Thor went apeshit when she was like all over his beloved little brother). Tbh, I prefer Sigyn than Amora if they really want Loki to end up with someone.
Canon-wise, Thor and Loki are meant for each other. I mean, Loki actually acknowledge Thor's love for him. Yesss and this happens in the comic by Rob Rodi, he's interpretation of Loki's resentment and longing for Thor is so heart-wrenching and bittersweet.
In love ahaha...makes me remember the way Tom described Chris in one of Thor movie's interviews. I think Tom said like this about Chris, "He such a umm...sweet guy". What kind of 'sweet' did he talking about anyway O_o??
What?! Really?? Is there a scanlation of that comic? Can you give me the link to that particular page? Pretty pwease(puppy eyes)??
No scanlation unfortunately. I'm still trying to search a way to get my hand on it other than buying it straight from Amazon. I've been asking around my friends if any of them already own this. I read all the reviews and synopsis regarding it and one even comment that this is the bible for any writer who wants to write Loki because the emotions that are convey by Loki in the story is very intense and raw and readers get to see him in another light.
Jhisksan actually introduced it to me recently and I got super excited about it. Its called The Mighty Thor Brotherhood and she attached together with a quote that Loki said, "Over all the millennia, only you have ever loved me, Thor. Only you have ever looked at me with affection in place of condescension." Sweet but sad. And I'm really inspired to write a fic based on it.
That quote only serves to make me more eager to read it...I too am looking forward to see this side of Loki. To finally be able to know his true feelings regarding his actions and origins, and especially about his relationship with Thor. Can you imagine if they make that book into a movie, and with Tom Hiddleston to portray this side of Loki?! (knock off my laptop in euphoria)
Thank you for telling me this, see you in part 2B of this fic^^
The Brotherhood comic also explains why he does this horrible thing, especially to Thor. And from the quote that was given to me, Loki explained to Thor, "Why, then, am I killing you, and not the others? …Because you stopped (loving me)."
*bawls into tears*
I just wanna hug this Loki who is so twisted but has a valid reason to be twisted. Anyway I'm friending you 'cause you're such a delightful person! XD
