Just an interesting fact to tag along with the whole NO MORE GAS THING.
When you think about it, once we hit the "Used Up 50% Of The Gas In The World" mark, gas is gonna become harder and harder to find. Gas prices will keep skyrocketing, and the world will be fucked.

My science teacher told me about it.
His main job is to tell us how RUINED life is, and how we all need to ESCAPE TO THE MOUNTAINS.
And I love him for it.

The only thing with the "gas shortage" is that there isn't one. There are a few places that have a ton of oil (like Alaska was I believe Jean's exact example in this conversation) that we can't drill because there are "cute little moose" running around. Except for the fact that the moose are in one place and the oil is somewhere else. The preservationists are saying, "Oh, look at the moose, they're so cute. Would you really want to harm them?" but the oil A) isn't near them and B) drilling it isn't that messy a process. Yet another of my random rants that never cease to end.

No, even once we tap all of those areas, it's still gonna be harder and harder to find oil.
Just think about it.
Once we've used up all the big collections, we'll just have to search for all the smaller ones, all the while having less and less turnaround.
We would have had to prepare for this 50 years ago if we wanted to be saved.
As much as I'm for the ruination of beautiful and preserved land like Alaska, Alaska does not have nearly enough oil to support us.

I'm just saying that at the moment the world isn't completely out of oil as people seem to think.

And I'm saying that it will be incredibly apparent when it is, and we're already in a downward spiral.

Yes, it will be and yes, we are.

*has a new point and thus changes the subject slightly*
And another thing, people are going on and on about how high gas prices are, but if they would bother to do a bit of checking they'd notice that, in comparison, the price has stayed about the same percentage of their yearly paycheck. But, of course, I doubt anyone could be bothered to do so, as it's this odd concept often referred to as "work".
