Are you already in Okinawa yet? I live here too [Camp Foster], and to be honest I hate it!

Unfortunately I really don't have any advise for you dear. :-( When my family moved to Japan we all moved together. We arrived at Kadena AFB and met our sponsor as soon as we got to there and he helped us find out where to get our license/car, showed us the commissary, bx/px, schools etc. Your sponsor is pretty much your best friend for a little bit until your husband comes over. You should also receive a guide for military members, map and housing information packet.

I would suggest as soon as you are placed in a hotel/housing unit try and make friends with other military members as they are in the same boat as you. It was hard moving overseas but in the end I loved it so much I was sad to leave after five years. Now I'm joining the AF and trying to get back to Kadena. lol.

Good luck dear!
