This might be OT, don't know, but I was wondering about tubals and the availability to get them in the military.  You see, I've been arguing with this asshat about the abortion debate in another community, and he said that women can always get a tubal; medical clinics in TN for instance, can offer this procedure to low income women.  Then they

Well, i don't know about the Tricare aspect, but i know that you don't have to have previously had children to get a tubal. I didn't. They do, however, usually make you wait until you're at least 35.

35??!!? That's outrageous! Why is it that a man can get a vasectomy at 21, but a woman can't get a tubal at the same age??

the base here refuses to do vasectomies until the man is 35. and they won't do tubals unless a woman has usually had more than two children.

my neighbor's husband paid out of pocket to go off base because he was under 35 w/ three kids and the base refused him.
