A blanket was stretched over the ground outside #44 Blueberry Hill, and on this blanket Uncle Drake sat, holding baby Matthew in his lap. Unconscious Drake! Babies in possible peril!

Savannah had been on her way to see Piper and Matthew when she saw the flash of red. Worried about her adopted mother and baby brother, Savannah kicked it into a run. When she saw the man standing over Drake, she was about to send a knock-back spell at him when she saw the kids.

"Damn and Double Damn."

She ran to the kids and scooped up Matthew and Peri. "Lilly! Grab Thea and get close to me."

She waited for the little girl as she started casting a barrier spell to protect the kids. They were her first priority.

Then she'd kick the ass of whomever had attacked Drake.

She's so brave and foolhardy sometimes.

Lilly picked up the baby (carefully, like her mommy taught her) and ran over to Savannah.

"Who's that bad man, 'vannah?"

The Sorcerer glared at Savannah and Lilly. "I have no interest in children," he said. "Begone."

"I dunno, Lilly, but I'm not going to let him hurt you or the babies." She glared at the sorcerer as soon as the kids were safely encased in the the protective barrier. "This is our home and he's our friend. You begone."

So stupid, if you asked the Sorcerer.

"He's also a demon, girl, and he can't hide that nature for long," the Sorcerer said. "And once he uses his powers to kill, they'll be all mine."

"Demon," the Sorcerer said, staring at Savannah like she was stupid. "De. Mon. Drake may try to pretend otherwise, but a demon is what he truly is. A killer, a destroyer."

The Sorcerer really didn't know Drake well.

Savannah laughed at him. "You really haven't spent any time around Drake at all. And for you information, my mother was half demon and she wasn't like that, either."

She really wanted to hurt this guy.

Piper had gone inside her house for a moment to bring out some refreshments, but when she heard a commotion, she rushed back out. She saw Savannah and the kids, unconscious Drake, and then the sorcerer. "Get the hell away from them!"

She was a pissed off mother with a very explosive power. Probably not the best combination for him.

"As you wish," the Sorcerer said, taking a step back with a wary eye on Piper's hands. "But I'll be back once he's finally remembered his true self. His powers will be mine." He shimmered away.

Savannah looked over at Piper before she even thought about letting down the barrier from around the kids.

"Mom? Is it safe for them now?"
