River Park: Thursday [6-4-09]

Jun 04, 2009 08:04

It was warm with a light rain falling, which made it perfect gardening weather in Lana's opinion. She was down at the River park, cleaning up the flower beds.

Sure she'd be soaked through by the time she was done, but that's what hot showers - oh or even better! - the hot tub was for.

[Open as parks are in the rain!]

Sean didn't necessarily like the rain, but it also wasn't enough to keep him from going out for a walk. And as it usually did, his walk took him through the River Park.

"Lana, hi!" he called when he noticed a woman doing something or other to a flower bed.

Lana smiled at him. "Hey Sean. You're looking a little wet."

Like she was one to talk!

"Yeah, just a teeny bit," he said with a grin. "But mere rain can't keep me indoors, by God."

"Good for you," she said with another smile. "How are you doing?"

"Not bad," he said, finding a relatively dry patch next to her to kneel down on. "Got a meeting with my lawyer early next week. Nothing's wrong," he assured her. "Just filing paperwork to open my store here."

Oh good for you!" She said. "When do you think you'll open it?"

"I'm not sure yet," Sean said. "Hopefully by the end of July at the absolute latest -- and that's accounting for major but as yet unnamed problems, just in case."

He'd learned to plan for everything, even if most of what he planned for wouldn't happen.

Lana nodded. "Always good to plan for the unexpected."

"Plus I've always been good at worrying about everything," he said with a rueful laugh. "Though watch, I'm sure something will come up that I won't have planned for. Only difference between it happening here and in Fandom is, here it likely won't involve something like merchandise coming to life."

"Don't say that too loud," Lana teased. "You'll give the village ideas."

"... if that ends up happening, just take me out and shoot me," Sean said, laughing. "Or else somebody else will."

"Not a chance," she said with a smile. "Need you too much around here."

"Then whack me over the head with a shovel or something to keep me from giving the village more ideas?" he asked hopefully.

She laughed. "Oh, I don't think that will be necessary."
