The library is open.

After an eventful night, Susan is at her desk, looking bit tired but none the worse for wear.

Connor had something he wanted to ask Susan before he left for London, so he headed for the library.

It's okay. Stuff happens.

Susan rounded a corner and spotted him. "Hello Connor. What brings you here today?"

[prodigalpawn]

"Well, I'm headed for London in a few days, but I wanted to know if perhaps you might need any help when I get back?"

[innerbabysitter]

"The library is hiring presently, so yes, I suppose you could say that. Would you be interested in the job?"

[prodigalpawn]

"Yes I would." he smiled. And not just because of the hot librarian. "I like books, and I've got good reflexes."

Susan nodded. She'd seen enough of Connor's reflexes to judge what he said as true. "You're hired. I'm counting on you to help subdue the collection and staff the building. You'll be working with me and another student named Fujiko."

"Oh, I've met her, excellent. I'll I guess call when I get back from London?"

[innerbabysitter]

"That would probably be best. Do enjoy your trip."

Seemingly out of nowhere the Death of Rats dropped down onto Connor's head.

Susan looked perturbed.

Connor jumped a bit in surprise, and looked up with his eyes, not moving his head. "Hi, is that also a bon voyage?"

It totally was. The Death of Rats twinkled at him.

Susan rolled her eyes.

"Thanks little guy." He noticed Susan's reaction. "I take it you two have met?"

[innerbabysitter]

"Oh yes," Susan replied, "You could say that. I still haven't properly thanked him for showing up in my tea."

The Death of Rats feigned innocence.

Connor snickered. "That does seem like an odd place to hang out."

[innerbabysitter]

"Yes." The rat bastard had been doing that to her since she was sixteen but she'd thought she was safe this time. Susan had a mind to toss him out a nearby window. It was a dirty trick, using Connor as a shield like that.
