Carson had been meaning to check up on Piper. Unfortunately for him not that he knew it yet he had the wrong day and was going to get Sam.

He should've been worried when a member of the kitchen staff who'd escaped into a corner to hide pointed him in Sam's direction with a shaky hand.

He wasn't.

Carson could be remarkably stupid sometimes.

"Uh, no," Carson said, his eyes actually watering a little at eau de booze. "I was looking for Piper, actually. Forgot she wasn't here today."

"... yeah, I asked for that." Carson at least had the good grace to look like he knew he'd just asked the stupidest question in existence. "Is there... is there anything I can do for you?" Their connection was tenuous at best, but it was still there -- through Piper -- so Carson felt like he had to ask.

Sam gave him the address of the apartment that was supposed to be theirs but was now just Meg's.
