Carriage House - Front Porch [Friday Afternoon]

Apr 10, 2009 10:35

Sam was relaxing on the front porch of the dorms. He had a glass of iced tea and had some music playing thanks to hooking his iPod up to some speakers.

It was a nice day and a holiday weekend and he was going to take advantage of the quiet time.

"Music sure has changed a lot from my time," Mary said as she happened to pass by.

"Hey, M... Mary," Sam said, smiling at her. "Yeah, Dean hates current music. He's very stuck in the 70s."

"Good for him," Mary said, smiling back. She wrinkled her nose. "A lot of the music now seems to be just so loud. Or . . . what is the word? Emo?"

Sam rolled his eyes. "Yeah, that's what Dean says too."

He moved over on the steps to make room for her to sit if she wanted. "How's everything going?"

Mary walked over to the steps and sat down. "Fine, fine," she said, neglecting to mention the research she'd been doing into the afterlife and/or changing the past. "How about you?"

"Pretty good," Sam said. "Did I tell you that Meg and I found someone to adopt the baby?"

"No, you didn't," Mary said. "Where? Who?"

"You know Piper Halliwell?" Sam asked. "She lives over on Blueberry Hill. Owns The Coven. She and her sisters are witches, so they'll be able to keep the little guy safe."

He smiled. "And she's willing to let us be part of the baby's life."

"That's great," Mary said, though she wasn't so sure about a witch taking care of her grandson. "Is she willing to let the grandmother be part, too?"

"I'm sure she will," Sam said. "That's why we were so glad she agreed to adopt. She's right here in town."

Mary nodded. "I'm familiar with her name," she said. "She's the one with the sons from the future, right? I don't think I've met her because if I did I can't remember."

"Yep," Sam said. "So you two will probably get along well."

"Are her sons older and taller than her?" Mary sighed.

"I'm not sure about older, but definitely taller," Sam said. "She's about as short as you."

He was teasing.

Mary made a face at him. "I am not short," she said. "I'm perfectly normal. You, you're taller than your father. And your grandfather."

Sam grinned innocently at her. "I got these genes from someone."
