As Meryl walked up the stairs, she noticed that she had not, in fact, turned the "open/closed" sign on her door for a while now.

She flipped it around, chiding herself internally that she had let that slip, and set herself up at her desk with her typewriter and her pile of paperwork, cloak draped over her chair.

A zebra wandered up to either a door or a window, whichever the office is more likely to have facing the outdoors. Perhaps it was looking for insurance.

Alas, the zebra did not speak English. It snuffed at the glass again and scuffed its right front hoof on the ground a few times.

Oooo. The zebra was fond of eating. It snuffled at the glass some more while it waited . . . probably getting said glass very, very ucky.

The zebra would not likely care. It bucked up on its hind legs for a moment and made more snuffling noises.
