Then she remembered the conversation they'd had when Isabel had first came to town.

"Of course!" Drake said. "But one year was all I got. If I go back on the deal, the sorcerer'll get my powers and probably do really unpleasant things with them."

Isabel sighed. Drake might be willing to go peacefully. But she'd definitely be talking to people about this.
