Dani was out to get some fresh air. She cringed a little bit as she caught a whiff of cigarette smoke. "You know those things are just nasty, right?" she said.
Max took a drag and raised an eyebrow at the other girl. "And I never got the appeal of judging people before you get to know 'em. Guess we both got our issues, huh?" She exhaled, shifting her position against the lamppost, crossing her legs at the ankle, getting comfortable.
"I've been here for a little while, but I just don't get out that much," said Dani. "I spent a few months pouting and waiting to see if my dad would pull me out of this school."
