Angela decided she liked this town enough to get a job. She was going to be an art teacher at the school. Why she had decided this, she had no idea. But it seemed fairly normal and it didn't involve skulls and facial reconstruction

So, this big red demon smoking a cigar walks up and says "I love these ducks."

How Angela would react, that might be the punchline, here.

"And they don't mind people sketching them," Angela said, turning to the person talking to her. She did a double take. "You're a few weeks early."

[came_through]

"New in town," Hellboy said. "You ready for me to tell you it ain't a costume?"

[thingforchaos]

"It is a pretty damn good costume, I'll give you that," Angela replied. "Actually does look real."

[came_through]

"It's real," Hellboy said. "Faster you accept that, the better you'll adjust to this town."

[thingforchaos]

"I'm a pretty open-minded person," Angela told him. "But come on. You really expect me to believe that?"

[came_through]

"You think I can fake this?" Hellboy said.

His tail was moving to gently poke Angela.

Angela stared. "Okay, how did you...?"

Maybe she was just the tiniest bit freaked out right now, but she was trying not to show it. "That voodoo priest I met told me this place was mystical, but this is not exactly what I thought he meant."

"Don't worry," Hellboy said. "I'm the ugliest sumbitch in town."

[thingforchaos]

"So, um, what exactly are you?" Angela still really wanted to believe it was a costume.

[came_through]

"Government project," Hellboy said, figuring 'Demon' might be a bad way to introduce himself.

[thingforchaos]

Well, that actually made some sense to Angela. "I've got a fia...friend who's all into government conspiracy theories. Guess he was right about some."

[came_through]

"Yeah," Hellboy said. "I'm from the 'things that go bump in the night' division."

[thingforchaos]

"Are you going to tell me there's actually an X-Files division of the FBI?" Angela wondered if Booth was aware of that.

[came_through]

"No, but there's an entire Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense," Hellboy said.

[thingforchaos]

"Guess someone needs to look into the spooky and weird," Angela said. It was strange how well she was accepting this, but he just didn't seem like a bad guy. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Angela."
