The Park - Thursday Afternoon

After class had finished Sofia decided that it had been a while since she had practised her flying abilities and so she thought that she should go to the park again and practice like she did the last time. She had gotten better with her abilities so she wasn't falling as much as she used to when she first started learning how to control them.

Mary had gone for a walk in the park when she saw a girl flying. This was something she'd never seen before, so she stared.

When Sofia had finished her latest round and had come back to earth, she noticed Mary and nodded at her with a smile, "hello," she said.

"You were flying," said Mary, still a little rattled. "How did you do that?"

"I'm a mutant," Sofia explained, "I have the ability of wind manipulation,"

"A mutant?" repeated Mary. "It looked really amazing! I've never seen anything like it."

Sofia smiled, "where I come from people like me are quite common," she said.

"It must be kind of nice to fly," said Mary wistfully.

"It is," Sofia nodded, "I don't know what I'd be able to do if I couldn't,"

"Where are my manners?" asked Mary, chuckling. "My name is Mary, and I'm new in town. I'm from a little town in Nevada called Las Vegas. Maybe you've heard of it," she joked.

"I'm Sofia Mantega," Sofia said with a smile, "currently living in Westchester, New York," she nodded, "I have heard of Las Vegas," she grinned.

"So, are you a student at the school?" asked Mary.

Sofia nodded, "I'm a senior," she said.

"It seems like a really nice school, from what I've seen," said Mary.

"It is a nice school," Sofia agreed, "Milieux was the first school I've been to in America,"
