Main Dorm Bathrooms [Monday, Morning]

Early morning found Cassie hunched over a toilet in the bathroom, bringing up most of what she'd eaten the previous day. She'd woken with a slight queasy feeling, that had only intensified in the minutes following, which had led her pretty quickly to the position she was in now. It wasn't nice

"You all right in there?" Thelma asked, having heard the noise.

Cassie mumbled something that might've been 'what does it look like?'. Then groaned and sat back a little way again.

"I'm sure I'll live," she said a bit louder for Thelma.

"I'd offer to hold back your hair, but it's a little impossible," Thelma said. "Did you eat anything funny, lately?"

"Pasta last night?" Cassie suggested, resting her head back against the wall behind her and closing her eyes. "Which I don't think did this. Maybe it's just a twenty-four hour bug..."

"Right," Thelma said, thinking on this. "You want me to go... get you some crackers?"

[ihatefrills]

Cassie shook her head, not opening her eyes, even. "Not right now," she said. "I don't think my stomach would like it."

"Right," Thelma said. "I'll just... stay here, then. Emotional support."

[ihatefrills]

"Thank you." Cassie sighed, cracking an eye open to look at Thelma. "Not having a good few weeks, here."

"We all have our off seasons," Thelma said. "But... darkest before the dawn and all those cliches."

[ihatefrills]

"So... maybe when winter finally hits this little swamp, I'll stop throwing up," Cassie said, feeling the need to lean forward again.

"Exactly," Thelma said, placing an open hand against the stall door.

"And then you'll get back into everyone's good graces and it'll all be fine."

Somehow, that wasn't all that comforting. She rather liked pretending no one remembered her week of evil.

She hummed vaguely in assent, then coughed and leaned against the toilet. "Ugh. God, I don't like this."

"Promise me you'll see a doctor if this keeps up," Thelma said, worried.

Cassie nodded weakly. "I'm sure it won't," she said, making an attempt to stand in the hope it would make her feel better. "Probably nothing serious. Hopefully."

"Hopefully," Thelma said, making a show of crossing her fingers. "You'll be fine."

But mentally, she was still fretting.

"I'll be fine," Cassie repeated, gingerly making her way over to the sink to wash her mouth out.

"I have class this afternoon," she said. "With any luck, I won't still be feeling ill, then."
