Cassie was making the most of the beginning of her weekend. She was wrapped up in a green dressing gown, giving herself a manicure in front of the television.

What better to do while going through your pre-going out beauty routine than watch reality television

Connor had not gone to sleep last night. He'd kept himself occupied watching the box set of "500 Nations" he'd borrowed from the library. The books, he suspected may not speak to him for a while because of it. They didn't quite take to the DVD's.

He was tired, and looked it, but also somewhat serene. Which was actually a side effect of being so tired. "Hey you."

Cassie glanced up from her work, and gave him a brief smile in the form of a quirk of the corners of her lips. "Hi."

"Bad night?" she remarked. She's not at her most tactful.

"I've had worse." he said honestly. "More like, late night, and not much point in sleeping after a while."

"I prefer to have a good, fun reason for my lack of sleep," Cassie said, smirking a little.

"Who says I didn't?" Connor chuckled. He liked that there was a coffee maker in here. "Of course nerd fun doesn't always compute with non-nerds."

"There are certain ways of having fun, that are understood by both sets," Cassie told him, blowing on her nails as she screwed her nail polish bottle closed again.

"Yes. Yes there is." he agreed. "I don't think staying up all night watching historical documentaries about Native Americans is one of them though.

Cassie arched an eyebrow, and wriggled her fingers. "No, that doesn't make my list."

"Didn't think so." He was too tired to care that her attitude towards him was not only different from the other day, but rather different than usual. Perhaps if his brain was more on it's game he'd have put some things together. But not today.

He poured himself some coffee, then dropped one of the hershey bars he'd gotten for halloween into it, and once it had melted, he then put in a scoop of vanilla ice cream from the freezer. Perfect.

Cassie watched him over the edge of the sofa. "That looks sickeningly sugary," she remarked.

"Helps cover the bitter aftertaste." he said. "It's only sickening if you do it all the time."

"Do you?" Cassie asked, looking over at him still.

[prodigalpawn]

"Nope. Only after an all nighter. Which sometimes are not the result of nerdy past times." This was actually one of the bits of Connor Angel that had been allowed to be part of Connor Reilly. Their reasons for staying up all night might have been different, but the ritual with the coffee had remained the same.

His brain was slightly more awake now. "You look fantastic."

"I hope that I always do," Cassie said pulling out a tub of moisturiser from the same bag that had held her nail polish.

"You always look pretty, and sexy." he said honestly. "Fantastic requires actual preparation maybe. It's a different kind of good looking." Where had that come from? You thought of strange things when you were on your last legs apparently.

Cassie smirked, she was hardly one to turn down complements. "How sweet," she said leaning to rub some of the cream into her calves.
