Der Waffle Haus - Friday later morning

Oct 26, 2007 15:10

Jack had learned over, many, many years how to enter an establishment and be in a position to take command if necessary. He simply used his size and his energetic nature to his advantage, particularly when he was wearing his greatcoat and today was no exception.

Even if it was just a wee harmless Waffle Haus, Jack got a certain perverse pleasure out of watching waitresses jump.

Grinning over his shoulder towards Marie, Jack stepped to the side and reached to her elbow in a manner that was pure, old world proper gentlemanly escort.

"Over there looks nice and quiet," he said, pointing to a free booth by a window and then heading in that direction.

He seated Marie first and then shrugged out of his coat and slid into the booth across from her.

"I haven't been in one of these places in years."

Decades actually but those count as years, right?
