There is a house in New Orleans

They call The Rising Sun...

Come meet the totally moddable band.

Make a request. Ask to sing along. They are very amenable, I assure you.

Pull up a chair and mod yourself a drink.

While Dr. Sable went to speak to the owner, Frannie helped herself a martini.

Nanny? Was going to mod have herself more than one drink. Maybe more than two. Probably more than three.

Then she was going to sing.

Would no one dissuade her from her course?

After his conversation with Dr. Sable, Midnite decided that he ought to make the rounds and greet his customers.

He raised an eyebrow as he watched the portly old lady make her way to the bar. A strange frisson travelled the length of his back.

Was it a premonition? A warning? One magical adept recognizing another?

Well, he'd soon find out.

Have business with Midnite?

Just care to chat?

Well, here's the man, himself.

"Excuse me. Are you the owner?"

He was a tall, thin man wearing an expensive, black suit. His hair as black as his clothes and he smiled honestly, offering his hand to shake.

"Doctor Raven Sable."

Midnite glanced up from the drink in his hand.

Not human. Not even close.

Not that that mattered.

He took another swallow from his glass then accepted the handshake.

"Midnite. Welcome, Dr. Sable." he said by way of greeting.

Famine continued smiling as he shook his hand, assuredly confident. He never paid attention to what sort of creature he had to deal with.

Unless, naturally, he had to work products to label certain groups. Marketing helped to study them much better.

"Just Sable is fine, Midnite. Fancy little town, isn't it? I'm used to large cities but a change of air is welcome."

There was also the Anti-Christ. Sable did not wish to return to the mind of men for years just because he attracted the child's attention. No sir, not with business marching so good again.
