Weevil was still a little asleep when he wandered out to the porch.

"Hey Lilly," he said.

Pause.

Blink blink.

The silence that followed, that would have been caused by Weevil's brain having turned to mush.

She grinned and went right up to him, hugging him.

"And here I thought I missed getting a chance to say goodbye when Celeste sent me away."

Because she couldn't see her name on him.

Lilly wasn't stupid. She knew when someone was being avoidy and hiding something from her.
