Cole carried Phoebe into the exam room and set her gently on the bed. He left only to move Piper to the other room and see that she was being tended to, then hurried back to Phoebe's side, hovering anxiously.

Phoebe wasn't moving and hadn't responded since the house.

"I'm going to have to ask you to step outside while I examine her," Cuddy said to the anxiously hovering man as she began to tend to Phoebe.

"No," Cole said. "I'm not going anywhere until I know she's all right." But he'd felt a weird moment of panic from Sam, too, but he was hoping it was panic over feeling Phoebe's injuries and these bonds were making his head spin.

Cuddy sighed. She realized it was probably useless to try arguing with him. "Well, then you'll at least have to step back..."

She frowned when she noticed a few burns. "You said this was a demon attack?"

She couldn't believe she was even asking that.

Cole nodded. "I'm not sure who, though," he said. "I could sense a lingering presence of one."

Cuddy had no idea what to say to that, so she went back to checking Phoebe's vitals and tending to her head wound and burns. Those were the most serious of her injuries. "She's stable right now.""

It was late, well past midnight, when Sam rushed in. He was breathless, frantic, and dusty, there were probably leaves in his hair, and his hands and face bore any number of small scrapes.

He didn't appear to notice any of that, or much care.

"Message. Didn't get it 'till ferry. 'xplain later. Son of a bitch! She's gonna be okay. Right?"
