To the tune of "American Pie"...

I found this on the GameFAQs WoW forums. I dug it, thought yall might too.

A long, long time ago,
I can still remember how those dungeons used to make me smile
And I knew if I leveled fast
I could run those raids at last and maybe I'd have epics for awhile.

But October really made me worry
With every site breaking the story
I'd never quite be at par
I couldn't grind one more bar

I can't remember if I cried
When I heard the Elves were on our side
Then someone called it, far and wide,
"The Day the Old World Died."
So,

CHORUS
Bye-bye Zul'Gurub and MC
Rode my Kodo down to Scholo, but the place was empty.
And Trolls and Orcs, were decked out in their Tier 3, sayin'
"This game will be killed by BC...
"This game will be killed by BC..."

Did you kill Onyxia?
Did you turn her head in for the buff?
'Cause the quest log told you so?

And did you go into Blackwing Lair?
Did you get some new armor there and
Did the Lasher make you feel
Real scared?

Well I know that you're progressin' fast
'Cause I saw you in your Helm of Wrath
You had the Shoulders too
Man, you had the belt and the boots.

I was a lowbie Tauren in a PuG
With a Northern Shortsword and an off-hand Mug
But all I wanted was a hug
The Day the Old World Died
I started singin'

CHORUS

Now, for ten months
We've been in Outland
While dust grows thick in the forty-mans
But that's not how it used to be

When the AQ's came in one-point-nine
With a quest you only do one time
And a mount: It's the only Legend'ry...

Oh, and while the rain was comin' down
The Priest trees got all changed around
The old spells were unlearned
Points were all returned

And while Blizzard fixed the Hunter's Shots
The Druids got some better HoTs
And we all started hating 'Locks
The Day the Old World Died
We were singin'

CHORUS

Naxx came next and the new armor was pretty
The Scourge dropped by to attack our cities
The AD came to kick their ass

Arcane Explosion! Instant cast!
And Blizz reviewed the Shaman class
And their days of being gods were in the past.

Now, that Kel'Thuzad was still to strong
And guilds still wiped on Sapphiron
We wanted to progress
Oh, but the Drama was a mess

'Cause the Hunter couldn't clear the field
The Shadow Priest refused to heal
And the Main Tank forgot his shield
The Day the Old World Died.
We started singin'

CHORUS

Oh, then we weren't all in one place
Cross-realm BGs should free up space
And Queue times should be going down
So, come on, in Silithus and EPL
Grab that dust and get those kills
'Cause Honor's being freely passed around.

Oh, and as my guild got past ST
It seemed my hope was leaving me
November was the mark
for the x-pack stuff to start

And as the game got pushed back to next year
I felt in me a sudden cheer
And I thought that I wouldn't have to fear
The Day the Old World Died
I was singin'

CHORUS

I met a Rogue in Dungeon Blues
And I asked him for a few run-throughs
He slash ignored and turned away.

I went down to old Orgrimmar
Where I trolled for PuGs for Molten Core
But the folks there said they didn't want play

And in the streets the lowbies walked
The forties rode and the sixties balked
I asked for more for Stratholme
They said that I should go home

And the one drop I desired most
The mace you get from Ragnaros
Would last 'til 66 at most
The Day the Old World Died.

And we were singin'

CHORUS

We were singin'

CHORUS
