Sorry about the long time, no post, but I've been pretty busy. Not just with my summer job, which pretty much rocks, considering, but also with other summertime things, like trips to get ice cream or game nights or just in general hanging out with Joanie because she doesn't have any homework. I told her the other night that I feel like we should take advantage of every moment she doesn't have homework because for 8 months out of the year she's tied to that ball and chain. We've been trying to make the best of it as much as we can. :)
My summer job is so much fun... mostly becuase of the changes that have come with it. First of all, I am working ONE job, not two. (Well, technically, I'm still an in-home teacher for babies with disabilities, but I haven't gotten any students yet. ) I can get dressed in five minutes or less because I have to wear some shorts and a t-shirt every day ( something I don't mind getting dirty.) I complete with outfit with flip flops and a ponytail adnd I am OUT THE DOOR!! Woot woot. Also, the kids are kept incredibly busy with cool field trips like movies, caves, community college programs, storytelling, etc. We also go to the pool two days a week, so I will end the summer with a killer tan, like it or not. I will miss going on vacation this year, as my job ends two weeks before school starts, but it's not too bad if I have to work.
Basically, I'm playing the waiting game with my teaching positions. It may be August before I know anything, and school starts Aug. 11... supposedly they're figuring out what elementary positions they need and I'm hanging in there. I had a very positive pre-interivew about a week ago where I was encouraged to "be a squeaky wheel" and the interviewers seems impressed with me. It's just a waiting game, I guess...
That's all for now, I'm running a little late becuase I took time to post. I will post again with other updates as they become available.. oh, and kid stories like "I was just trying to punch the bee so I could get it down on the ground and kick it away."
