With a sigh I just kept walkin' and fixed my eyes straight ahead again rather than on him. Crossing my arms over my chest, I tried to think about what Wes had said, about what the Guardian had said, about what those books had told us. Destroy what the Guardian was protecting. Okay, sure. He was protecting the last slayer. Well, technically second to last since I was still kickin' around. I'd just assumed that all the other one's had died. How did I know this? Why had I known this? I just had to put all the pieces together.
"We'll have to research immediately." Wesley's voice was soft and yielding next to me, almost like he felt bad all of a sudden or something. "We need to know why he's guarding the slayer, and what's to be done about it."
No shit. Course we needed to figure it out, cause it didn't make sense. She was already on her deathbed, so shouldn't she destroy herself in a couple of days? If she even had that long.
"We have to research again when we get back." I finally just said sullenly to Angel as we approached the school.

Sighing, I followed her up to the school and nodded my head when she said we had to research. Yeah, I knew that, I was getting hungry myself too. But, I could hold it off for a little bit longer.
"I'll be able to know early ... if you have it, just in case," I said quietly with a shrug. Even though that would be something that I didnt' want to find out, at least I'd know when and if ... from the very beginning.
Saw my car as we walked up around the parking lot and I got in after she did. Didn't really have anything else to say, so I started it up and headed back to the apartment.
