Ah, there it is. This is what I’ve missed about blogging (I had a Xanga a while back-don’t try searching for it, that’d be like getting Windows Me and expecting OS X Leopard1). It’s the ability to make titles.
Granted, I was writing titles for my Facebook notes, but I always felt like that was the wrong medium. I wanted a blog. And now I’ve got one! A shiny new one in which I can talk about what I like, with as many characters as I like!
My greatest fear in this blog is that I will tweet less as a result. Having two outlets for my thoughts probably does mean that one will be neglected, and I hope to God it turns out to be the blog. The only way I could see myself giving equal attention to both is to use the blog for the express purpose of expanding on ideas I discuss in my tweets, because sometimes 140 characters, or even 280, is not enough to truly convey the complexity of my ideas. Most of the time it suits me just fine.
So for the rare occasions it does not, this blog will be here waiting.
I also really like the phrase “Okay, I’m stopping now,” which I used to sign off from my last post. So I’m going to be toying with the idea of signing off every post with it, until it becomes annoying. But I’m not going to do it this time.
1Please note that while I am using OS X here in an example which may make it seem to be the hero, I urge you not to be misled. Let me just say that though I fully endorse Windows, finding a good example to fit the hero bill was tough. I was originally going to say XP, but XP is from eight years ago, so I really felt it was too dated. Meanwhile, Vista is viewed so poorly in the eyes of the public that one could argue that if you got Me and expected Vista you would not be disappointed. I used OS X because it does not have that stigma. I’d have said Windows 7, but had you even heard of Windows 7 before some nerd started talking to you about it? And by the way, if you found out about it yourself, that nerd may have been you. Stop talking to yourself.
