My ears are ringing, too...

The irony is overwhelming. A mere two weeks after I made my post about spring, my allergy medication has utterly and completely stopped working. I've been given a new type of medication but it makes me drowsy and doesn't seem to be helping at allI went to make a progress report on my latest research project to the Chief Prosecutor, who took one ( Read more... )

Edgeworth... are you sure you're not coming down with something?

What? Don't be ridiculous, I don't get sick.

You "don't get" sick? What, is there something in your privileged bloodstream that prevents colds and flu?

I just don't. I haven't since I was a child.

Oh, that's awful Mr. Edgeworth! I'm sorry you aren't feeling well...

Though, maybe Mr. Wright is, well... right. Are you positive you aren't coming down with something a bit more serious than just bad allergies?

Yes, of course, Ema. This is the time of year I usually get allergies, and I'm just not used to the allergens around here anymore - so my body is reacting more strongly. That's why it's being so harsh this time around.

That... doesn't make much sense sir, speaking from a scientific standpoint. Well, I suppose it does kind of, I guess, but... really, it probably is for the best that you take a bit of time off while you're having such bad reactions!

If you don't, there's no denying that they could take a turn for the worst.

Mr. Edgeworth. Can you do something for me?

Hm? I would be remiss if I didn't consider a request from you, given that you came to my aid.

The man seems to think I can't do my job because of something as silly as allergies, which I've had all my life and it's really quite ridiculous. In fact I was looking up to see if it would merit a suit under the Americans with Disabilities act but apparently it doesn't. Not that I would have.

You may certainly trust me, little brother; if I can decipher your notes, that is.

Really, your handwriting has not looked this dreadful since you were a child. Go home and rest, or I will have to demand outside intervention.

I'm sorry, if you have any questions feel free to ask. And I'm not sure whose intervention you feel I need. I'm an adult and quite free to make my own choices.

Be that as it may, you cannot always be counted on to make the correct choice... which would be to avoid causing yourself drastic harm.

And I think you should be aware that I have checked with maintenance, and that there is nothing wrong with the heating system anywhere in the building.

Apparently not. I'm told I have the flu. I'll be out of the office for longer than I'd like.
