Woolly *snickers* Go, Vala, you tell him.
This was a sharp and lonely contrast to the blissful week of the cabin Great line. And HEE! you snuck in Cam/Lam again - a woman after my own heart. (I do the same in The Monster - repeatedly *wink*)
And you brought up the repercussions of Vala's torture. This is great, because like you stated it isn't a rarity in her life, so she just shrugs it off, more accurately she looks to shrug it off, but it stays with her. Deep her psyche, soul, mind, it's always with her. ANd then you brought up the subject that of Vala's sexual abuse. I like how you don't hide from the uglier facets of what has happened to Vala, you out them out there, you approach them and ultimately you show how instead of making weaker, they made her stronger.
heh - Carolyn giving out condoms. Oh, I hope she tells Cam ;)

He hadn't noticed. Of course he hadn't, Vala. Before you all he did was work, he probably wasn't even aware that he could stop at five. Again, another reason why I love them together - she lessens the stress he puts on himself. She is light, where he is heavy, he is ground where she is air. They balance each other.
And you brought in the Vala s9 arrival story line into it. Okay, I already knew you had done that - GW is evil, but still I like how you did it. Again something completely plausible w/o having Vala bring it in. :D
LOL! genius presentation of Vala giving him the condom! *pets* Daniel. But gods, Wooll-Woolsey, you sure know how to ruin a moment *bonks*

And bringing the ugly sexual abuse in was so hard to do, I like Vala whump but that's just harsh, you know? But it's part of her character and definitely part of my fic *curses past self for hinting at it in the early chapters* :P But I really appreciate you commenting on it because that's exactly what I wanted to do, show how strong she is. I have a lot of trouble with fics where she's endlessly reduced to a simpering mess cowering behind Daniel and I really really really tried hard to get my characterization of her far from that...but not too far :P Finding a sane middle ground is hard! ^_~
And you are ABSOLUTELY right! They DO balance each other and I LOVE that about them! Vala chills him out and Daniel forces her to regain some of those small, slightly bent morals ^_~ She's got all the important ones, she just needed a reason and purpose to give up the smaller ones...not that she totally has, which I also love about her ^_~
And I LoL'ed at your Evil GW comment ^_~ I hadn't realized we'd spoiled so much there...oops! But thanks for mentioning that too because that, apart from Vala's emotional stability, was the hardest thing to figure out!
YAY! I'm glad you liked the condom thing! I had like a two hour discussion with Cat about the pros and cons of putting it in. On the one hand, I didn't want the issue of protection to go completely unmentioned because that would be too fluffy and less real but then again, I didn't want to just shove it in people's faces and detract them from the important things....hence my YAY for you liking it! ^_~

Vala whump is all good, because she in the end stands up for herself. As for the simpering Vala - I have to mention I hated, okay extremely disliked, the scene in Dominion when Reynold's comes back and he shouts at her and she half hide behind Daniel. Okay, it was fake, but still I - eeh!
She does have all important one and in the end I think that's what matters, because she does know b/w right and wrong, but she also know on where to bend a little right for some wrong ;)
The condom thing was gold!

In Dominion, I rather remember that scene not as "Vala hides behind Daniel" but "Daniel steps in front of Vala" ^_~ It works better in my head to have him all protective than having her cowering ^_^
