a single drop, a tear from the sky, and the clouds parted, from them spilling a million more. the heavens itself were crying for him, and in his dejected weakness, he felt the cold lashes were deserved. His pain in that instant was infinite, and he relished in it. the cold scorched his sole and froze his bones in an istant. he was at home, in a world of torment that would never end. he had nothing left, and wanted nothing more than to feel himself slip and fall, to know he had failed instead of simply believing it. his body, a mass of corded muscle and twisted sinew, rose and fell with his labored breath, than stood still. he had failed, and new it now as his consiousness slipped from hius grasp. in his final moments he smiled at the memory of the pain he felt, and in his twisted humor, at the pain he would soon feel in his eternal punishment.
