I was really unimpressed with the writing at first but once I found out she used to write for TV I thought that explained a LOT, so I felt a little less annoyed with her lirl. I am curious about the movie because I actually think this is the kind of story that might be better told in film, or even in a miniseries or something.

lol yeah the convenient magical technology that hadn't been thought out at all was a bit weird, like INVISIBLE HOVER CRAFT, INVISIBLE CAMERAS AND MICROPHONES EVERYWHERE, MAGICAL FAKE FIRE etc.

I did think her messages were interesting even if I thought that perhaps the story wasn't told as well as it could've been/didn't live up to its potential. I think the bookfurstrated me more than Twilight in some ways, and that's because with Twilight I never really got the feeling that there was a better story being hidden under poor writing, but that's how I felt reading Hunger Games. I also rolled my eyes when I found out she does the games AGAIN in book 2, but then I've never read them and have had conflicting reports from people. My one friend told me that book 2 was stupid and she should've just had book 1 and 3, but someone else told me that book 3 was boring lol.

He's watching Doctor Who next week! I am irrationally nervous. WHAT IF HIS OPINIONS ARE WRONG AND I HAVE TO SHUN HIM FOREVER?

OMG, THE SHEER TERROR OF SHOWING DW TO FRIENDS! MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU (says the very secular european who'd probably get nothing much more than a dry chuckle out of Big G for any prayers)!

So many things that can go wrong! What if they think it's silly? What if they don't "get" classic scifi? What if they start questioning the sonic and otehr things with their "reason"? What if they don't like Rose? WHAT IF THEY DON'T LIKE STARWHALES?!?!?

'tis the ultimate test.
