Hi everyone!

I don't know if this is the final update before I head home or not. Anyway. I'm heading to Moscow on Saturday afternoon around 4 p.m. (that's 8 a.m. EST over there in the States). I'll be staying with my host sister for a couple days. She found a job and an apartment up there, and invited me up. It will really be nice to have a full day in Moscow between arriving on the 16-hour overnight train and hopping on the 11-hour flight back. Anyway, if you really want to know that everything's fine after I arrive in America, send me an e-mail with your phone number (milaviola@gmail.com), and I'll either call you on the way back from Detriot (my parents are bringing my cell phone for me) or on the 21st after I call everyone in Russia.

In other news: I found out that I can indeed simply take my books to the post office and send them off from there. That means that I have to deal with the rather rude post office ladies, but oh well. As long as the books get into a box, a custom slip gets filled out, and the box gets sent on its way to America, I'll be happy. I think I might drag a friend along with me for "moral support" or something.

Well, I think that the concert has been moved to Friday (ACK!!!!!). That's right, the day before I leave, I'll be playing a concert around 2 p.m. Yay. That's ok, though, because now I can relax a little on Wednesday, though I think we might still have class. Thursday I'm hoping to be able to skip out of Rosa's class and have the day totally free. Oksana already cancelled class that day, and my German teacher agreed that it was fine if our last class was Wednesday. That's cool with me. So, just Wednesday left for classes (hopefully), and then I'll be able to pack up most of those office supplies and books on my desk, and most of my clothes and shoes and a lot of other things. I have a lot of small things, and I really hope that they all fit in the little suitcase. I think they will...they'd better...they will. There, now that I have that settled.

There's going to be a little party with the Americans and Irish and a couple Russians on Friday evening. It's my going away party. I think it'll be fun and sad at the same time, but going parties are always such, are they not? Anyway, then Saturday I have to wait around all day for the train to leave at 4. Several people have promised me that they'll come to see me off, and that'll be cool. Sad, but cool.

Um, I think that's just about all for now...oh, no, it's not. Got some great news from my Russian professor at home yesterday. I've been chosen as the Presidential Scholar in Foreign Languages of 2006, and that is pretty cool. The Presidential Scholar award is an award at my university that is given to seniors who have done really well in one field or another. Presidential refers to the president of our university, and I think I have to get my picture taken with her or something. It'll be cool. It'll also mean the fourth year in a row that I show up to receive an award at the Department of Foreign Languages award ceremony thing in the spring. They're probably getting sick of me. :-) Anyway.

I should go. I have a few things to do before class starts in about two hours. Talk to you all later, I may or may not update again before I leave. I'll try to put something up after I get back home, too. Just keep checking. Anyway, I'm off. See you all later!!!
