Semester
So far, this semester is going to be awesome. I've been to four of my six classes, and am REALLY looking forward to each of them. Programming is...well...programming, but there are only about 15 people in the class (which I love), and there's an English PHD student in there, so I'm not some weird language person any more! Human Sexuality is going to be really interesting, my teacher definitely has strong views, but really likes hearing from and discussing many different ideas and opinions from many different backgrounds. Also, my small group is going to be fun in there.
Syntax is going to be a challenge, but a challenge in an area I enjoy! My teacher is young and energetic and obviously knows what he's talking about (always a good thing). And apparently he went to stanford for computational linguistics - I shall be having a chat with him. Met with Doug this morning about my research "class", and I'll be learning a TON, and getting a lot of practice in preparing and presenting research.
Now just two more, Historical Linguistics (which I'm FASCINATED with) and Sign language communities (which just sounds neat)
Overall, going to be a good semester!
