Accio Draco Malfoy!
I finished reading Harry Potter!!
While reading, I kept a paper and pen beside me, listing the people (or non-people, for that matter) as they died. We all knew people were going to die. It was in the title. Deathly Hallows.
Some reactions on the final installment. Do not read if you do not want to be spoiled. This is why it is in white! Haha!
EDIT: I think it's safe to post spoilers now. Haha!
YEY
1. DRACO MALFOY DID NOT DIE!
2. Voldemort died (well, duh. The story wouldn't end without him dying.)
3. Every lingering mystery was explained, though it was done gradually.
4. The new myth played a good part in the story (though it was like, whatta, where did you come from?)
5. Severus Snape was redeemed.
6. We get to see handsome Sirius again (as opposed to that fugly bloke they had in the movie) and imagine his handsomeness.
7. Voldemort becomes more of a character in this book, rather than just a looming, abstract problem.
8. Hogwarts goes to war!
9. I liked how arrogantly Harry talked to Voldemort in the last chapter.
10. At least Harry and the Dursleys (well, Dudley anyway) were reconciled. Though whatever happened to them?
11. Harry had Draco's wand? OOH. (Slasher friends, I can feel your happiness.)
13. I KNEW HARRY WAS THE LAST HORCRUX. I KNEW IT!
NAY
1. Albus Dumbledore had a dark past. I think the seventh book's telling us that he's not so perfect as the past six books have showed him to be. But it was kind of overwhelming, this revelation.
2. Actually, most of the revelations were kind of overwhelming. The previous books should have hinted at it.
3. ALL OF THE MARAUDERS ARE FUCKING DEAD.
4. The book focused mainly on Harry and Hermione (and Ron, though he was lost at some point.)
5. WHERE THE HELL WAS DRACO MALFOY? Is this the fifth movie all over again?
6. RON MARRIES HERMIONE AND HARRY MARRIES GINNY?? WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS, A CHEESEFEST? And they have fucking children! With strange and unfitting names! (SCORPIUS AMP!)
7. If she told us that Harry was going to have a happily married life with kids, she should have bothered with telling us WHAT HIS JOB WAS, OR WHAT THE HELL HE WAS UP TO.
8. This book lacks something, I'm not sure what though. It just feels...weird.
9. What happened to the sword of Gryffindor?
10. What happened to the Ministry? What happened to everything??
11. Harry Potter is a dropout. I wonder if he actually did seventh year?
