This is why I am very particular about book to screen transitions. Sure, the book will almost always be better than the adapted movie or television show. They'll always go all Hollywood on the adaptation. Like in the Harry Potter 6 movie, with the made up Ginny and Harry scene in the room of requirement. I mean the epilogue was bad enough come on. And in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, with the romance thing between Susan and the Prince like WTF. But OMG I never thought they would adapt a Gossip Girl book to the the Gossip Girl television show. I mean WTF Von Zigesar Chuck was GAY when you ended the series with a ghost writer and Nate impulsively deciding he can't choose between Blair and Serena was just so deux ex machina. Then they write a sort of epilogue book with Chuck/Blair, Dan/Serena and Jenny/Nate all happening like in the show and OMFG did you like, sell out to the suits? I understand the other two but WTF man Chuck is GAY. Sure the fans want him not gay in the show and there's money in demand and lalala but THE BOOKS COME ON. The books. Let Schwartz fuck up the plot however he wants to in the show but the books. They should have left the books alone. She should have separated the book world from the world of the CW and not written all of those horrible things. It's insulting and appalling and good luck for the backlash.
