Alison mentioned in a recent interview that the cast share a text message group and that's how they keep in touch, rather than using social media. I want to say that Gillian confirmed, maybe?
In any case, all Joel's comments say to me is that the cast (including Alison) have probably discussed and are probably interested in doing more Community as a television series, but with the way the casts' schedules are going it's going to be harder to get them all in the same room (which happened with Arrested Development). If some kind of go-ahead came from Sony for a S7 (unlikely), about all the cast could manage for now is to make time for a four- or five-episode season, and probably only as a set-up for the movie at best.

That was a fun interview. Morning talk show people the world over seem to love him. Yeah....pretty much what was attributed to him saying on Triple J. He does point out that what he's talking about is all conjecture and yet with his insider knowledge with both Sony and Dan, it's realistic to think that this may have been talked about by the powers that be.
I mean we've talked about this before. A shortened season or a handful of longer episodes, ala Sherlock, leading into a movie. I still think that while remaining positive is good, it's gonna be a while before DH feels like getting back into the creative headspace he needs to, in order to do any more Community properly.
