Status (dating/engaged/married): Married.
How long have you been together?: We've been Married for 5 years.
Where do you live now We live in IL
How long has the military been part of your life?: I married him when I was 18, he was in the Marines. I was a Marine wife for 3 years. He's been out for 2 years, and recently decided he's rejoining.
Are you/your spouse a lifer or just contract?: He will be a Lifer
If your husband/wife/SO wasn't in the military, what career would he/she be doing? He got medically discharged, and has tried the civilian jobs... they just aren't for him.
Are you in college/graduated college/planning to go: I'm in cosmetology school... and absolutely in love with it.
Photo of the couple (Edit ANY identifying info!): Ok... so, maybe I'm a little technically dumb... but I don't know how to post a picture on this. I can change my userpic to a picture of us if that would work?!
How do you feel about the military in general?: It's kinda a safe haven. It's familiar. We did it for 3 years already. It's a guaranteed paycheck and it's what he loves.
Have you gone through any deployments with your significant other?: No. He was supposed to get deployed to Japan... and 2 days before, they cancelled it. Then he was training to leave for Iraq and thats when he got injured.
Tell us something about yourself: I'm a city girl. The thought of being in another po-dunk town like jacksonville Nc makes me sick to my stomach. lol
Why do you think you would be a good fit for this community?: I can give advice and support because I've already experienced it, but now that we're going back in... I need the same in return.
If you had one piece of advice to pass on to other military wives what would it be? To stand by your man. Military life isn't ideal... and it's sure not easy, but it makes you a stronger woman for having dealt with it, and makes your marriage stronger than the average Joe's.
Were you referred by anyone?: No.
Military Branch: He's actually thinking Army.... but possibly Marines. The problem is the Army currently has a wait for prior enlisted, and he doesnt want to wait.
Anniversary Date: Jul 3rd
Any Children?: None yet.
