Wow, it's been a busy 3 weeks of school. Yesterday I had spring Sing auditions (it's a huge event on campus) with members of the marching band, and if they don't take us then I don't know what they were looking for in the mini-musical category because I think we were adorable, clever, and awesome. Not that I'm biased. Our piece was about a UCLA

Yeah, we're on the quarter system, so we start at like the very beginning of January. It's kind of lame.
The movies do a fairly good job of wrapping things up, I think, but I just found them utterly boring. Takizawa was definitely naive, but I've always liked the naive, selfless protagonist. His character design was cute, too, so that helped.
Ohhh Library Wars! The plot is nothing much...or more like, military shows are not my thing. I mostly watch it for the chemistry between the main couple. I think you would like the lead girl. She's pretty badass but she's still pretty cute and naive. And the guy is a male tsundere, which is one of my favorite character stereotypes (as long as they aren't abusive like 99% of male tsunderes in shoujo manga).
I think I've liked Index II better so far, too. I only know a bit of the stuff that happens later in the light novels, but I'm excited for when stuff gets crazy. Though I read certain spoilers recently that made me sad. And yes, I do keep up with the Railgun manga, which is infinitely better than the Railgun anime. Mikoto's a total badass in it. I'm interested to see what they'll do after the Sisters/ITEM arc, though. I hope it will be more new material. I hope it doesn't go straight into the stuff with Kuroko and the other Teleporter because that just got animated and I'd rather see something original.
I honestly will probably only keep up with 1 or 2 of the new shows this season. I mave high hopes for Madoka Magica even though I'm not a huge fan of shaft...it's been awhile since I've seen a mahou shoujo I liked, so I'm hoping it does the trick. I don't actually like trying to keep up with series (I'd rather just wait til they're over and watch them all at once), so I'll probably just watch Index, Magica, and maybe one other and go back to the other shows when I need something to watch.

Actually, I think spring break is around the same time as people on the semester system, and we actually get out later (June instead of late May). On the plus side, school starts at the end of September. I've never really had the opportunity to fully enjoy my summer breaks, though, because Band Camp starts a little over a week before school starts. And this year my break was about a month shorter because of SAS, but there's no way I'd complain about that.
I didn't particularly dislike Mononobe, but I'm with Takizawa in that all those citizens being killed wouldn't have been worth it.
Yep, it's about a fictional military group that has the rights to protect books from being taken away due to super intense censorship laws. It's interesting to think about people being willing to fight over art, but I'm still not convinced that the Library Force idea makes sense...well anyway, I recommend it. You can find it streaming online relatively easily, but the manga only has a few volumes out and very few scanlations. I'd honestly recommend the anime first or maybe even the light novels because there's an LJ group that has the first two novels entirely translated.
Yeah, I've heard it's supposed to have all 4 as protagonists, but we're really not seeing that atm. Index has become slightly more useful, which is good, but she's still my least favorite character in the series.
Yeah, ITEM was cool, and we got to meet Mugino, which I guess happens eventually in Index, too, but it was nice to see her earlier on in the story. I know there's a lot of overlap, but there've got to be tons of days when Touma's doing other stuff where you don't see Mikoto at all that could be made into other story arcs, such as the current arc in the TV series.
Magical girl shows are always fun, and Madoka seems like i will be a bit more on the dark side, which is what I liked about the first season of Nanoha. So hopefully I'll like Madoka, too.
And fixed!
