Had another interview where they went "You're great! We can tell! But you're inexperienced so, we're not saying no! ... but we're kind of saying no

Good luck with your interviews... I have another one in two hours! Eek!
Re. Olympics coverage. I've seen Olympics broadcasts in four different countries (Australia, the USA [London 2012], Canada [Beijing 2008], and South Africa [Athens 2004]) and they have ALL been painfully myopic in their focus on their own country (the USA was the worst, but I think that's completely understandable given the number of competitors they have). I think pooh poohing a broadcaster for not focussing on a more global perspective at the expense of covering its own Nation's athletes is... going to get you no-where! I bet the only reason it didn't stand out to you this time was because you were in the country you wanted to see perform and that CBC's coverage was not really anymore ~global than other coverages. In fact, given that we here in Australia had two whole (free to air) channels dedicated to the Winter Olympics (one that played NOTHING BUT Winter Olympics 24/7 for two weeks), added to the fact we only had 60 athletes competing in a comparitively small number of events, the Aussie coverage was pretty freaking ~aces as far as globality goes this year. Of course the summer Olympics are going to be different, because we'll have a bigger team with more event representation, but I think that's understandable and, to a certain extent, necessary.
Also, I hear you on the freaking time zones, URGH! I have had much 4.30am tv time in the last couple of weeks.
Haha, well, I think we'll have to agree to disagree about the Olympic coverage. I watched so many events where Canadians didn't even have a horse in the race, so to speak! But anyway, we clearly both feel very strongly about it and I'm glad to hear the coverage was better over the Winter Olympics because my housemates and I (and pretty much everyone in our class, the majority of which were Aussies) were livid about how Nine handled London 2012.
Time zones suck :( Also distances. Everyone should love in the same time zone and we should all be able to teleport to see each other.
