Can you tell Im giddy? :)

  • Unfortunately this is the only picture I can find but its similar to our elevation but we dont have the bay windows.
I never quite understood the value of the bay window. It gives the illusion of more space ina room but doesnt add much usable space and theyre SO expensive.
We also chose a very dark mocha brown for the shutters and the door. I like it because it looked warm on the brick and I hadnt seen them in that color before.

so Ill start from the bottom and work my way up:

  • The top part of this image is bumped out about 13 feet because of the morning room.
  • The right  of the house is bumped out an additional 2 feet on all floors
  • The large spaceo n th right that says its unfinished is actually finished liek 19X13 as a "Media Room" but we will be finishing it as our office. its double the size of our current basement office but we really had no alternative and we NEED an office space.
  • We also added the full bath with shower inthe basement
  • The walk out has double rench doors which lead to an 8' concreet stairwell exit.
  • The basement is underground.

On the main floor we ran the hardwoods through out. Still have to pick those out at the flooring place  along with the carpet and pad.

  • We upgraded to 9 foot ceilings
  • added the chair rail and crown moulding in the foyer dining and living rooms.
  • There are columns in front of the living and dining room
  •  a huge paladium window in the stairwell at the firt landing going up -then another big window on the first landing going down.
  • We upgraded to the gourmet kitchen with double wall ovens
  • and added recessed lights there and in the family room.
  • Theres a walk in pantry in the kitchen and we chose a beautiful granite for all the counter spaces.
( I have issues with the cabinetry selection but that will come up later im sure)
  • The family room is also hardwood with  9'  stone fireplace
  • My favorite thing in the whole house is the sizable morning room with almost no wall space because of all the windows.
  • There are double french doors that swing out to the backyard and what will eventually eb a deck and patio area.
  • Theres a powder room with the usual pedestal sink but Im hoping the building manager will let us swap it out for a vessel sink Im hoping to order in advance.

 And Finally

The upstairs has 4 bedrooms.

The only thing we changed was the  master bedroom

  • We upgraded the MB to a suite with a sitting area
  • There are two large wlak in closets
  • we added a tray ceiling with the rough in for soft lighting in the tray
  • there's a upgraded bath with an oddly shaped soaking tub a separate shower and toilet in a closet *lol*
  • we upgraded the tile
  • theres a double bowl sink but I REALLY wish we could have separate vanities
  • The master bath has a vaulted ceiling
  • The guest bath is just a plain guest bath. We just need to choose the flooring for it.

Over all it has everything we wanted. We upgraded all of the door handles from the round ball knobs to the lever-style handles and  NONE of the doors are on a track. Theyre all 6 panel and  swing open on a hinge.
Theres also a 2 zone hvac system which Im thrilled to have so we dont have to heat the entire house for 2 of us.
Thats basicaly it i. 3300 sq feet in a nutshell.
