I triple-checked the rules, and G-rated stories are allowed. This isn't terribly erotic in and of itself, but someone could easily eroticise it if this is a kink they enjoy, so it counts. Never thought I'd write a non NC-17 kink bingo fic, but there are a couple of squares in my card this year that may end up this way ( Read more... )

The main differences between theatre and file, at least in terms of costuming, is how often things are worn/how much damage they take, and how close you're going to see them. In theatre, nobody will ever see things up close, so you can get away with a lot of things that look hideously ugly up close but fabulously awesome from a distance. Also there might be quick changes - I've seen people have to do a total costume change in less than thirty seconds. So you build with a lot of velcro, hooks & eyes, etc. Generally they take very little damage from stage action, though they can be quite brutally worn by wear and tear. The costumes are always worn in the same order every night.

In film things are done out of sequence, so you have to keep track of what you're going to need next. You'll almost always do multiple takes of each scene, so if a shirt gets torn/dirty/set on fire, you're going to need many copies of exactly the same costume. They also need to be much more perfectly made, because not only are you going to see them up close, you're going to see them in giant-size on the big screen. Every little detail and flaw is visible when a button is a foot tall in HD.

There are of course a lot of difference in terms of running crew vs set crew, but I only build things, I don't work backstage/on set. I've done it in the past, I just don't like it much.
