Bernice was a sunflower back where i grew up...she was one of the last remaining woolly sunflowers on the planet. she had a great disposition, always helping friends in need & going out of her way to throw seeds to hungry crows. one day, Mortimer came to visit her in the field that she lived. Mortimer was a venemous tree frog from Shrelanka who was very well travelled & worldly. he told Bernice of a distant land where other woolly sunflowers had cultivated a small village atop a malachite mountain. "they have a stream for water, plumbing & a community microwave oven," he told her. Bernice had never seen another woolly sunflower & was incredibly intrigued. after giving her vague directions, Mortimer hopped off to the nearby dirt road & managed to lodge himself in the grill of a '71 Buick Skylark. Bernice stood in her field for a few days, alone & didn't speak to any of her friends, & the crows were getting extremely hungry. still, she couldn't be bothered ... she was contemplating a set of plans for finding her kin. she ordered a catalogue from acme (hell, if the stupid coyote could afford it, why couldn't she) & perused the metalworks section. she ordered two million three hundred sevety one feet of railroad track, several billion ties, a balsa wood, "do-it-yourself" steam engine, four wheels, a razor, toilet paper, & a gallon of super glue. plus, with the size of her order, she got the free gift...a full set of silverware. after next day delivery, she began work on what would be her greatest accomplishment ever, "Bernice's railroad to somewhere." she toiled night & day, laying tracks, assembling her engine & shaving her wool for burning as fuel. finally, the work was done, she said goodbye to her friends, & fed the crows one last time. with all the preperations made, she uprooted herself & jumped onto the engine. after about a mile on the tracks, she wilted of dehydration.
