Cthulhu fhtagn
I read a description of how to summon the essence of Cthulhu into a cup of salt water. When I told my friends over IRC, one of them said "I thought Budweiser's recipe was a secret".
I recently cooked fish meatballs in broth. It didn't taste too well, and the smell... I couldn't describe it in words, but Lovecraft already did it much more eloquently than I could anyway. It was the smell of Innsmouth, of Deep Ones, of unmentionable not quite human beings with webbed feet. It was the smell of R'lyeh and of Cthulhu.
And the sad thing is, I'm used to our kitchen smelling like that.
